In my experience the Business Analyst is the face "in the gap" between business as usual and improved, more efficient & effective business. They're not just a client facing expert, as in a them and us sense. but a 360º stakeholder facing liaison if you will.

Yes as a BA you have to at your best all the time when you are with client. It doesn't matter if in office or in a social gathering.

This is so true as a BA we make the first impression on the client. I have personally experirnced that clients feel confident about the project if BAs are good.
