--> Alan: Thanks! I think it is important to keep your eyes and ear open to certain "things" while you are working in project. It is also a good practice to identify these "things" at the start of the project and keep coming to the list every once in a while.

Nice Post! Knowing your customer before the project is essential and while doing the project it is even more important to keep an eye on the health of their business.

These are some things that a BA should do but are not directly under his role. Just to digress a bit it is also important to keep an eye on people who can cast trouble for you.
